Join us for a Special Underground Nomads evening on Tuesday May 12th with musical guest PETE LIST, joined by the ITALIAN INVASION Belly Dance crew – yes, from Italy. If you are in town for Tribal Fest and in SF on Tuesday night, you won’t want to miss seeing San Francisco’s hub of Belly Dance and World Beat culture.
Underground Nomads happens weekly on Tuesdays at F8 1192 Folsom, SF with rotating DJs and dancers. The night started with and for co-founder Cheb i Sabbah, and continues in his honor.
This week, we have an extended lineup featuring some Amazing out of town performers making their first stop on their US Tour on their way to Tribal Fest – California. We will also feature local residents, and a pre-show class with the Italians (Alice Giampieri, Violet Scrap, Patrizia Pin & Pete List).
Alice Giampieri, Violet Scrap and Patrizia Pin will be performing this evening, joining our resident crew featuring FatChanceBellyDance, Inc., Wendy Marlatt, Pixie Fordtears and a duet by Amberetta & Surreyya aka Full Metal Blonde!
Pete List will be performing a live Beatbox Baaja set And joining DJ Amar for some live beatboxing during his DJ set.

Workshop Description:
Tribal Tornado…
For the first hour, Pete will teach a beatbox workshop open to all. He will teach basic beatboxing technique for sound and breath, and some basic rhythms to create a soundtrack for dance. If you have a mouth, you can beatbox! Non-dancers welcome.
In the second part of the workshop, Alice, Violet, and Patrizia will teach distinct tribal fusion combinations and improv techniques to inspire participants in group movement.
THEN, for the conclusion of the workshop participants will join the teachers to combine what they have learned of beatbox and tribal fusion combos into an innovative group music and dance performance for the show. We will revel in the challenge of creating in the moment and share our creative energies with everyone. Bring on the storm!
