January 20th: TWO SHOWS! 7PM: Dance & Diaspora Fundraiser | 9pm: DJ Santero, Bramani, Chandala, Yvonne Michelle, Sadira, Ali Hawkes

This week, our community brings you TWO shows!

To start the evening (at 7PM), enjoy an early show presented by Jill Parker and Foxglove Sweethearts. From 7-9pm they will be entertaining with some great local talent, including Amberetta, Azure, Cera Byer, Pixie Fordtears, and live doumbek by Mohini – plus Special Guest from the UK Alexis Southall!

The proceeds from this Evening Show show will benefit Jill Parker and Foxglove Sweethearts’ upcoming show “Dance & Diaspora” at ODC Theater in February.

After that lively start for the evening, we will continue with our Underground Nomads schedule, as outlined below.

Santero will be back behind the decks, playing the music you can’t help but move to!

Continuing our great line ups of 2015, we will have Bramani, Chandala, Yvonne Michelle, Sadira, and our newest member of Underground Nomads: Ali Hawkes!

Ali Hawkes was raised by a dance teacher and grew up dabbling in a variety of dance forms, including Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Ballroom. None of them stuck as well as Belly Dance, which she began studying in 2007 in Los Angeles. She solely practiced ATS until moving to the Bay Area and has been studying Tribal Fusion and ITS. — **Ali Hawkes** was raised by a dance teacher and grew up dabbling in a variety of dance forms, including Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Ballroom. Our Schedule this week:
7-9pm: Dance & Diaspora Fundraiser ($10-30 Sliding Scale Donation)
9pm: Underground Nomads Begins with DJ Santero’s Opening set ($5 cover after 9pm)
10pm: First Dance Performance set: Ali Hawkes, Chandala
10:45pm: Second Dance Performance Set: Bramani, Yvonne Michelle, Sadira
11pm: Santero back to DJ open dancefloor until midnight or later

Normal weekly schedule:
8PM: Music starts
10pm: Dance Performances start at 10pm (Note: Starting February, we will be starting performances earlier, at 9pm).
DJ sets all night following performances, till midnight or later. We are transitioning to earlier hours, and will be offering 2 sets of performances.

(*On certain weeks with larger Special Guest lineups, we start performances earlier, at 9pm, have sliding scale entry fee and may not offer free early entry – but we will honor it if you ask).
