Full Moon Dub: DJ Sep Extended Global Dub Set + Miss Kelly’s Birthday

Extended dj set by DJ Sep spinning a worldly mix of her signature dubwise sounds with an ethnic flair. We are lucky to have DJ sep among our resident crew. While many of you get to see her at Dub Mission playing a more roots, reggae dub style set, you now have the opportunity to be on the dancefloor as she pulls the classics out of her global closet and brings new treasures from around the world to the dancefloor. Think KPFA’s Off The Beaten Path (Radio show hosted by DJ Sep for many years) meets Electric Vardo (Sep is one of the original co-founders of Electric Vardo) Meets Dub Mission (Weekly Sunday dub/reggae/dancehall night in SF that is about to celebrate its 17 year Anniversary), all in one night. Can’t miss that!

Birthday Celebration for Miss Kelly featuring belly dance performances by Marci Ann, Amber Burke and Miss Kelly. In celebration of Miss Kelly’s birthday, we convene together with one of tribal fusion’s original raqstars. It’s going to be a very special night as we celebrate her sweet and sassy self, and enjoy her elegant and beautiful dancing. For this night, we celebrate Miss Kelly, one of the original members of the groundbreaking dance companies out of San Diego, Urban Tribal Belly dance, directed by Heather Stants. Miss Kelly now lives in San Francisco and continues to be active in dance and pursue belly dance as an art. A good friend and long time advocate of dance, Miss Kelly brings her friends for a fierce night of belly dance that you won’t forget.

“It’s 10pm and Dulce is rocking the floor. Dance performances are about to start, and Chebiji will take the decks shortly. Tune in from around the world or get your tush over to F8 if you are in or near SF. Tonight’s epicness is already in progress…”

That was the night’s beginning. Watch the recording from this amazing night with Cheb i Sabbah, wrapped between a sweet opening and closing set by Dulce Vita (The dance performances were missed due to the camera being aimed at the DJ booth).
